Onto the next. Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Roger Mathews have been through a lot in the past 10 years. The former flames first met on the set of Jersey Shore and then eventually fell in love and got married. The pair welcomed two kids but decided to call it quits in September 2018 after the reality starlet filed for divorce. Things turned ugly for a short while since JWoww filed a restraining order against Roger, but they ultimately were able to work things out. JWoww moved on with Zach Clayton Carpinello, whereas Roger is focusing on his kids and himself these days. It’s refreshing to see the reality stars be on the same page for once. The medication — it was like Xanax, it would take me down. The downers would make me so groggy, then I would start taking uppers. I segued right into Italy. I was a f–king mess.”

Roger is so hands on with both of them it made me fall in love with him all over again,” she spilled to E! News in 2016. “We also learned to talk through disagreements rather than be stubborn or argue. We don’t want our children to see us fighting. We want them to learn how to talk through things and grow from the experience.”

Before the stars filed for divorce, JWoww hinted that their relationship was not doing well. “You are either going to grow together as a couple and do everything together, or it can like, [splits apart her hands.] I always say never have kids unless you want to have kids. I know a lot of people that are trying to have kids to fix their relationship or do all these crazy things. No, no, do not do that. Have them to have them,” she told Us Weekly.

In December 2018, Roger posted a series of videos on Instagram and revealed that his ex filed a temporary restraining order against him. “My wife was screaming in my daughter’s face, ‘Your father’s a piece of s—t. He’s out of here. He’s out of here. I’m sorry I ever had children with him,’” he claimed.

JWoww later claimed her ex mistreated her and their two children. “You are an abuser to the core, Roger Mathews. You have spit at me. You have pushed me. You have shoved me. You have aggressively thrown me to the ground,” she claimed in a length blog post at the time. “You have prevented me from closing doors to escape having you coming at me. You have belittled and disparaged me. You have threatened me.”

In response, Roger shared his side of the story in an Instagram video. “Things were said about me in a long, rambling rant that was put out about me that was highly erroneous and many lies in it,” he said. “I know that we have the proponents of truth on our side. I know that there is a deep-rooted history of this … playing the victim.”

In a second statement, the truck driver addressed JWoww with an emotional plea. “I am extremely saddened. Saddened, as I lay here next to both of our children that we could not have found a better way to handle our differences,” the statement read, which was posted on his website. “You and your post have made me a monster. I took down my posts, which was recommended by both of our councils, yet you leave yours up and bask in your glory of tearing down the father of your children. I am not a monster. We’ve both embarrassed ourselves out of anger. Let’s stop the madness. Let’s stop the anger. Let’s stop the lies. Let’s work together for our children.”

Roger and JWoww hit a road bump when JWoww saw her ex having fun with his friends on the ‘gram when he was supposed to be with their kids. “When you find out on Wednesday your kids will be with someone other than their father over the weekend because he wants to rage during HIS time because it’s been planned ‘for months,’” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Yeahhhh, OK.”

Roger and Jenni seemed like they were on the same page again in May. “I was sad for her going through it, but I am happy now that it’s over. They seem to be great now,” Jenni’s costar Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio told Us Weekly at the time. “Like totally coparent. I watched videos of them with the kids and when it’s the sad part about it, it’s the kids that suffer the most, but they’re not letting their kids suffer or see any of it, it’s just great.”

During the season 3 premiere of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Jenni revealed how she has different parenting tactics than Roger when it comes to her son’s autism diagnosis. “Roger believed that Greyson was a slow learner, and he was going to learn on his own,” she told Deena, 32. “That caused a lot of tension in our household because we have one parent like, ‘I need to get ahead of this and fix it,’ which is me, and then you got another parent like, ‘What are you doing? It’s not a big deal.’”

Meanwhile, Roger admitted to Us Weekly what he was looking for in a woman. He’s hoping to find an “established woman with her career and personal life in order, who has similar likes and interests,” he said. “Communication is critical to me at this point in my life. If you’re a bad communicator, we probably won’t make it far. I want peace and stability in my life for myself and my children.”

But Roger hopes JWoww and Zach can get over the drama. “I want peace with my ex-wife for my kids, and if there is turmoil in her life and in her household, it’s just not a good thing for our children, so I wish nothing but the best for her,” he told Us Weekly in October. “I wish them all well, and I hope Jenni and Zack can work through their issues if they deem it worth saving.”

However, during the Thursday, October 31, episode, JWoww spoke with her bestie Snooki about her marriage and admitted her biggest “regret” was marrying Roger. “When you get divorced, you’re supposed to be celebrating and start a new chapter, but it’s really heartbreaking,” she said. “And it’s stressful, the up and down battle of figuring out custody issues. I just don’t know when it gets better.”

Roger responded to JWoww’s hurtful comments. “You don’t spend a decade of your life with only one person then just never care about them again,” he told Us Weekly. “You can act like you do, but you’re probably lying. Hatred spawns love.”
