Five confirmed new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Latvia on August 2, with the total number since the start of the pandemic rising to 1,243 on Sunday.
No additional deaths were recorded with the fatality toll standing at 32.
The Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) said 1,354 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period.
In total 201,310 tests have been carried out since February 29.
So far 1,052 patients have recovered from infection.
Four patients are in hospital, all described as having moderate symptoms of the disease.
SPKC also added that of the five new cases, four involved contat with people coming to Latvia from abroad, and in one case the source of infection was still being investigated. The countries in question were not specified.

The number for medical emergencies is 113 , the number for enquiring about a COVID-19 test if you have developed some potential symptoms after returning from overseas or being in contact with someone confirmed as having coronavirus is 8303 and the SPKC COVID-19 advice helpline is 67387661 .
